At CarrySmart, we prioritize your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use the CarrySmart mobile application (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

When the CarrySmart App is activated, it may collect the following information based on your preferences:

  • GPS Location Data: If enabled, the App can record and transmit your real-time geographic location during an emergency event, once the application is triggered. 

  • Microphone Audio Recording: If enabled, the App can record audio from your device's microphone during activation, storing it locally on your device or initiating a phone call to a desired contact. 

  • Emergency Contact Information: To alert your designated emergency contacts, the App retains user-defined messages and phone numbers, independent of the local device contacts list. 

2. How We Use Your Information

The information collected by CarrySmart is held entirely on your end-user device and is used strictly for safety and emergency response purposes:

  • Emergency Alerts: When activated, the App may send text messages or initiate phone calls to your selected emergency contacts, sharing your location and notifying them of your situation.

  • Local Data Storage: Audio recordings are stored securely on your device and are not transmitted over a network unless you manually choose to share them.

  • User-Controlled Activation: All features are user-selectable. GPS tracking, audio recording, and messaging only occur if explicitly enabled by you.

3. Data Sharing and Transmission

CarrySmart does not record or transmit any personal data, GPS location, or audio recordings to our servers or third parties without your explicit consent. All recorded data remains on your device unless you choose to share it during an emergency. Any communication (text or call) with your emergency contacts is initiated directly from your device, with no involvement from CarrySmart after call initiation.

4. User Control and Permissions

  • You can enable or disable GPS tracking, audio recording, phone calls, and emergency contact messaging at any time from the App settings.

  • You control who receives emergency alerts and what data is shared during an alert.

5. Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security protocols to protect your data:

  • Local data is stored securely on your device.

  • Local emergency beacon devices do not transmit any personally identifiable or sensitive information across the datalink. 

  • Network communications to third parties (text or phone, if initiated by you) are protected per your telephone service's privacy policy.

6. Third-Party Access

CarrySmart does not share your data with third-party services. Any data you send to emergency contacts is directly managed by your device's native messaging and calling capabilities.

7. Children's Privacy

CarrySmart is not designed for use by children under the age of 13 without parental consent.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
